19 Objective of the Course: To enable students to improve their English grammar using reading, listening, speaking and writing skills in intermediate level.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To enable students to communicate in English at various work environments such as international concerts and stage performances.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to develop reading comprehension skill;
2 To be able to develop listening comprehension skill;
3 To be able to communicate in verbal diologues;
4 To be able to think and write short paragraphs in English;
5 To be able to use the correct tense of verbs in sentences;
6 To be able to use new contextual words in sentences;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 unit 21-22 use of past perfect simple use of passive constructions
2 unit 23-24 talking about future probability,communicating by phone; phrasal verbs
3 unit 25-26 using modal verbs for necessity and obligation expressing contrasting ideas
4 unit 27-28 use of present perfect simple and continuous, prohibition,obligation and permission in the past
5 unit 29-30 use of first and second conditionals,reporting statements
6 unit 31-32 use of past perfect simple and continuous,use of causative and reflexive pronouns
7 unit 33-34 predicting future events will have done using phrasal verbs about illnesses I. Midterm
8 unit 35 past modal verbs of deduction
9 unit 36 use of non defining relative clause
10 unit 37 use of present perfect with for and since
11 unit 38 asking polite questions
12 unit 39 talking about past regrets, third conditional , I wish/if only
13 unit 40 reporting questions
14 general revision with multiple choice tests
