19 Objective of the Course: From stepping foot of Anglo-Saxons to Britain Island until today historical period is to be discussed. The students are going to evaluate comparatively history of Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students learn the outline of British History and its effects on continental European as well as world history.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To know Great Britain and United Kingdom conceptions. ;
2 To gain the ability of evaluating of Britain’s roots and elements.;
3 To gain the ability of categorizing Britain’s history. ;
4 To gain the ability of analyzing transformation the migration and invasions caused. ;
5 To gain the ability of evaluating the historical reasons of sectarian differences. ;
6 To gain the ability of resolving the evolution of parliamentary system. ;
7 To gain the ability of explaining the rise of capitalism.;
8 To gain the ability of analyzing the dynamics of English imperialism. ;
9 To grasp the culture of Anglo-Saxons.;

2 Roman invasion (55 BC-410).
3 The effects of Roman invasion to island culture.
4 Seven Kingdoms Period
5 Nordic invasions (8th-9th Centuries)
6 King Edward and the establishment of United Kingdom
7 Norman Conquest (1066-1204)
8 John Lackland and Magna Carta (1205)
9 English-Scotch War (1328)
10 Wars of the Roses (1455-1487) and Britain
11 Tudor dynasty and establishment of the Anglican Church
12 Rise of capitalism and colonialism
13 Acts of Union (1707,1801)
14 Great Britain and age of imperialism
