19 Objective of the Course: The objective of this course is make the students gain knowledge about basic concepts related to memory and memory processes, theoretical approaches trying to clarify this field, types of memory, memory in aging processes and pathologies of memory.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students taking the course to acquire the ability to develop critical thinking on the topics covered in line with the purpose of this course.

1 Introduction to the history of studies of memory
2 The content of cognitive psychology in general, bases of memory studies
3 Models of memory, the first studies in this field, the process from dual models of memory to multiple models of memory
4 Levels of processing approach, transfere appropriate processing and specificty of encoding approach
5 Multiple models of memory: Model of working memory and the others
6 Connectionist models of memory
7 The characteristics of encoding, storing and retrieving processes
8 Types of memory, the characteristics of short term and long term memory, differentiation between explicit and implicit memory
9 Semantic memory and its organization, cognitive models related to semantic memory
10 Flash memory, autobiographical memory, metamemory and source memory
11 Amnesia
12 Aging and memory processes
13 Mild cognitive impairment and dementia
