19 Objective of the Course: The first aim is to understand the Qur'an, which is one of the main sources of Islam, in accordance with the will and purpose of Almighty Allah, in harmony and wholeness of “word, meaning and purpose’. Second, to provide students with the knowledge and skills to identify and apply the universal principles that will meet the religious and worldly needs of individuals and societies.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Thanks to this course, the student systematically recognizes the Quran which is the main source of knowledge of the Islamic religion and the tafsir culture formed as an effort to understand it, from linguistic, historical, thematic, problematic and theoretical aspects and gains the ability to make scientific evaluation..
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To gain the ability to transfer the high moral and spiritual values brought by the Qur'an to the contemporary world.;
2 To be able to acquire scientific knowledge in understanding and interpreting the Qur'an in historical knowledge and method gains.;
3 To be able to have basic information about what kind of book is the Qur'an.;
4 To be able to comprehend the approaches, currents, schools and historical processes that constitute the main lines of classical tafsir history and provide understanding, explanation and interpretation of the Quran.;
5 To be able to judge and interpret contemporary approaches, views and evaluations accurately with the knowledge of Qur'an and the history of Tafsir.;
6 Knowing the past and present of Tafsir and using this knowledge as methodological analyzers for future’s developments.;
