19 Objective of the Course: The students can learn religious beliefs, practices and phenomenon in a comparative way, and get more sound information about the meaning and function of religions. Thus, he sees religion as a fact that contributes peace intra and inter society.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The student learns the place of Islam among other religions comparatively. He/she gains insight into the historical and theological reasons for different practices in religions.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Student discerns historical development and methodology of comparative religion;
2 He absorbs key figures’ approaches of comparative religion;
3 He can make comparisons on similar, different and identical aspects of religions;
4 Because he approaches religions in a comparative way, he can make correct evaluation on the meaning and function of religion;
5 He classifies religious aspects as theoretical, practical and societal ones;
6 He discerns unifying and peaceful aspect of religion;
7 Owing to sample texts, he can understand Arabic and English sources;
8 Because he knows other religious traditions, he can approach societal and academic matters more comprehensively and objectively;
