Objective of the Course: |
The aim of this course is to recognize the basic concepts of art and aesthetics, to have an idea about art and art criticism and to gain a perspective on the social history of art. |

To know the basic concepts of aesthetics, to understand the ideas of thinkers on art and aesthetics, to recognize the arts and to understand art criticism. |

Introduction to aesthetics. What is aesthetics? What are the scope and purpose of aesthetics are answered. |

Aesthetic subject (subject) What is an aesthetic object (object)? The concept of beauty in Aesthetics. Thoughts of ancient philosophers on beauty. What is beauty in art? How should it be? |

What is the aesthetic value? What is aesthetic taste? What is aesthetic perception? What is aesthetic pleasure? Samples are read from the works of art and the opinions of the thinkers. |

Senses in the aesthetic perception process. What is aesthetic reception? What is aesthetic judgment? Questions are answered. |

Among the aesthetic theories: Mimesis and Katarsis theories. Recognition of philosophers' thoughts on these theories. |
