19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to provide preservice teachers with a perspective of different educational philosophies, to introduce philosophical movements influencing the Turkish education system, to adopt consistent and changeable philosophical principles that overlap with universal and social values, and to reflect these principles in the learning-teaching process.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Defines philosophical concepts related to education, philosophy and educational philosophy.;
2 Gains the habit of thinking on their own and making decisions freely.;
3 Compares and illustrates philosophical concepts related to educational philosophy.;
4 Has a holistic view without any prejudice in all researches.;
5 Evaluate the curriculum and educational management processes in terms of basic and educational philosophies.;
6 Knowing the past and living with the awareness of the present, preparing the future consciously.;
7 Democracy education and gaining democratic attitudes.;
8 To provide a holistic view of the relationship between education and philosophy with concepts.;
9 Get information about the philosophical foundations of the Turkish education system.;
10 Gains an analytical and critical approach.;

2 The main problems of philosophy (such as ontology, epistemology, ethics, / Philosophy of Values) and its relation to education.
3 Contemporary theories of education (Perennialism, Essentialism, Progressivism, Reconstructionism).
4 Idealism and Education.
5 Realism and Education.
6 Education in the Middle Ages (Religion and Education).
7 Naturalism and Education.
8 Cultural approach.
9 Pragmatism and Education.
10 Existentialism and Education
11 Liberalism and Education.
12 Utopias and Education.
13 Analytical education philosophy.
14 Critical education philosophy.
