19 Objective of the Course: The main aim of this course is to provide both the theoretical debates concerning capitalism and communism, and the empirical debates over the performance of real existing capitalist, socialist and transition economies

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students will be able to learn to examine how political and economic institutions alter economic outcomes.;
2 Students will be able to analyze institutions of existing capitalist systems and to the historical evolution of those institutions.;
3 Students will be able to understand some of the differences that exist between types of Capitalist systems;
4 Students will be able to identify and explain systems that are not capitalist in nature;
5 Students will be able to compare systems on the institutions that make them unique and explain the advantages and disadvantages of the institutions.;
6 Students will be able to identify institutions that exist in the world that make economic systems divergent.;
7 Students will be able to learn the primary categories are planned and market socialism;
8 Students will be able to evaluate historical evolution of transition economics;
