19 Objective of the Course: Mechanism of host plant relationships, genetic mechanisms of host plant resistance in plants, mechanisms responsible for variation in plant pathogens, epidemiology and etiology of major groups of plant-microbe relationships, control measures of plant pathogens

3 Knows morphological features of fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens ;

6 To understand the epidemiology and etiology of major groups of plant-microbe relationships;

5 Mechanisms responsible for variation in plant pathogens including mutation, hybridization, heterokaryosis, parasexuality, adaptation, cytoplasmic inheritance and bacterial conjugation, transformation, and transduction
6 Genetics of host-pathogen interaction, mechanism of genetic variability in pathogens
7 The gene-for-gene-concept
8 Formation of new races and biotypes
9 Study of pathogenicity of fungi, bacteria and viruses
10 Molecular and biological techniques for identification of plant pathogens
11 Biochemistry and physiology of plant pathogen Interactions
12 Host plant-pathogen interactions, with some examples
13 Epidemiology of plant diseases
14 Control measures of plant pathogens
