19 Objective of the Course: To teach the students the etiology, pathogenesis, macroscopic and microscopic changes in congenital anomalies, circulatory disturbances, inflammations, infectious and parasitological diseases and tumors of cardiovascular, hematopoietic, endocrine, urinary, male and female genital, muscular and dermatologic systems in domestic animals. The student is expected to have a general insight on these diseases, to form an infrastructure for the understanding of the diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis of the diseases of these systems, and also to be able to express lesions of these systems orally and in written. The course also aims to teach proper necropsy technique, the evaluation of necropsy findings, sampling, preservation and transport of samples.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Provides the knowledge and skills necessary for the diagnosis of diseases.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 diseases of cardiovascular, hematopoietic, endocrine and urinary system diseases in domestic animals.;
2 diseases of male and female genital, muscular and dermatologic systems of domestic animals,;
3 proper necropsy technique in different animal species; evaluation of necropsy findings, sampling, preservation and sending samples, and the major metabolic diseases of poultry.;
4 student how to describe lesions of these systems and prepare oral and written reports.;
5 Collect, preserve and transport samples, select appropriate diagnostic tests, interpret and understand the limitations of the test results. ;
6 Recognise signs of possible notifiable, reportable and zoonotic diseases as well as abuse and take appropriate action, including notifying the relevant authorities. ;
7 Perform a systematic gross post-mortem examination, record observations, sample tissues, store and transport them ;
8 The aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment of the common diseases and disorders that occur in the common animal species. ;
22 Course Content:

1 Abnormalities of the heart and vessels, diseases of pericardium, myocardium and epicardium. The aim and general principles of necropsy Demonstration of dias and slides on cardiovascular system diseases
2 Diseases of arteries, veins and lymph vessels. Equipment used for necropsy, euthanasia, death and marks of death Demonstration of dias and slides on cardiovascular system diseases
3 Diseases of blood cells and lymphosarcomas. Algor mortis, rigor mortis, postmortal coagulation, postmortal hypostatic congestion Demonstration of dias and slides on hematopoietic system diseases
4 Diseases of thymus, lymph nodes and spleen. Congenital and hereditary defects of muscles. Imbibition, palor mortis, autolysis and putrefaction Demonstration of dias and slides on hematopoietic and muscular system diseases
5 Viral and bacterial diseases of muscles. External and internal examination in necropsy, positioning in necropsy, removal of the skin and dearticulation of the extremities Demonstration of dias and slides on muscle diseases

7 Postmortal changes, abnormalities and circulatory disturbances of kidney; degenerative and inflammatory diseases of glomeruli. Taking out and examining organs Demonstration of dias and slides on urinary system diseases
8 Diseases of tubuli, interstitial area diseases, urolithiasis and diseases of vesica urinaria. Examination of joints, muscles, bones and other organs Demonstration of dias and slides on urinary system diseases
9 Abnormalities of genital system organs, diseases of ovaries and salpinx, non-inflammatory diseases of the uteri and certain inflammatory diseases. Necropsy in ruminants Demonstration of dias and slides on male and female genital system diseases
10 Diseases of the pregnant uterus and fetus. Bacterial and parasitological abortions. Necropsy of equidae Demonstration of dias and slides on male and female genital system diseases
11 Viral, bacterial, protozoal and fungal abortions, diseases of cervix, vagina and vulva. Necropsy of swine Demonstration of dias and slides on male and female genital system diseases
12 The terminology in defining skin lesions, congenital and genetic disorders, lesions from mechanical injury, burns, freezings, solar dermatitis, photosensitization. Necropsy in chickens Demonstration of dias and slides on dermatological diseases
13 Nutritional, immune mediated and endocrinal skin diseases. Necropsy of laboratory and some wild animals Demonstration of dias and slides on dermatological diseases
