19 Objective of the Course: To have knowledge about Seljuks and Anatolian Seljuk Empire.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It enables students to be professionally trained in the field of Seljuk and Anatolian Seljuk History.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To gain ability to use the main sources of the period.;
2 To have ability to evaluate the studies on the history of the Seljuks.;
3 To learn and assess the knowledge about the Seljuks.;
4 Understanding the economic and social conditions of the period.;
5 Comprehending the cultural and institutional characteristics of the period.;
6 Analyzing the impact of political developments and the problems of relations between the religious schools.;
7 To comprehend the situation of the relations between the government and public.;
8 To bring students to the level to able to analyze the history of Seljuks.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 To learn the developments that have occured from the beginning of the Great Seljuks history.
2 Introduction to sources of this period.
3 To evaluate the works and views of the researchers of the period examining their works.
4 The reign of the Tugrul and Cagri Begs.
5 The reign of the Alparslan and Melikshah.
6 The decline and fall of the Great Seljuk Empire and emergence of the prinicipalities (beyliks).
7 Horasan-Kirman, Syrian-Palestine Seljuks, Irak Seljuks.
8 Foundation and expansion of the Anatolian Seljuks.
9 The decline adn tha fall of the Anatolian Seljuks.
10 Second period of the Anatolian principalities (beyliks).
11 Cultural, economic and institutional developments of the period.
12 Examine the religious, social and the aspects international relations of the period.
13 The effect of İlkhans in the Anatolia.
14 General evaluation.
