19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to ensure that the legal rules are understood by the student, to introduce students to the basic concepts and institutions of law, and to enable students to make an assessment. In this context, they are expected to give basic legal knowledge and gain basic gains in different areas of law.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have general law knowledge that reqiured for a short-cycle eduaction in Social Sciences.;
2 To able to learn fundamental concepts of law.;
3 To gain the ability of understanding of other law courses during education process. ;
4 To learn individual rights and freedom in daily life ;
5 To have a equipped infrastructure in working life;
6 To learn different law systems of the world and have ability to make comparison with each of them;
7 To recognise that Turkish law system is the part of European Law System with some differences;
8 To have exemption in transition to First Cycle ;
9 To succeed in examinations of public institutions.;
10 To be an intellectual person;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Definition of law and rules of law, comparison of law with the other society system rules, different definitions of law. Sanction concept in law, types of and samples of sanction.
2 Main law systems in the world. Continental legal system. Anglo-saxon legal system. Turkish legal system
3 Branches of Law Distinction of Public Law, Private Law. Branches of Public Law: International law, Constitutional law, Administrative law, Tax law, Criminal law. Branches of private law. 1. Civil law: Persons law, Family law, Inheritance law, Property law. 2. Law of obligations 3. Trade law. 4. Private States Law 5. Business law 6. Civil Procedure Law 7. Enforcement and bankruptcy law. Study of sub-branches of private law: Law of Obligations and Commercial Law.
4 Sources of Law. A) Main sources of law !. Written sources and hierarchy of norms Constitution, International treaty, Law Presidential Decrees, Presidential Decrees of the State of Emergency, Regulations.

6 Turkish Judicial System, Judicial Institutions and Types of Lawsuits. Judicial Branches in Turkey. Constitutional jurisdiction Judicial Jurisdiction
7 Administrative jurisdiction Dispute Judgment. European Court of Human Rights Types of Lawsuits.

11 The concept of right, its types, examination of public and private rights. Gaining and Loss of Rights.
12 Concept of Personality, Classification of People and Their Competencies. I. Real Persons: The Beginning and the End of Personality. Person's License: Right License, Acting License. Conditions of Acting License Classification of Persons in Terms of Verb Capacity.
13 Concept of Inheritance and Legal Inheritors. Property Right, Subject, Scope and Types.
14 Concept of Obligation and Contract Types.
