Brief History
Medical Imaging Techniques Program
The Vocational School of Health Services was established in 1985 as an associate degree-level institution under Uludağ University with the aim of training qualified healthcare professionals to meet the needs of the healthcare sector. Among the School’s founding programs was the **Radiology Program**, which commenced its educational activities on 7 October 1985 at the Görükle Campus.
The program has provided students with theoretical and practical professional training in accordance with the evolving needs of the healthcare sector. Practical training has been conducted primarily within the **Department of Radiology** of the University’s Faculty of Medicine Health Practice and Research Center, as well as in relevant units and departments, including **Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Oncology**, where students have had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various medical imaging and related clinical applications.
In accordance with the decision of the Executive Council of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) dated 15 April 2009 concerning the revision of the names of departments and programs at vocational schools, the **Radiology Program** was renamed the **Medical Imaging Techniques Program**, effective from the 2009–2010 academic year.
The primary objective of the program is to educate **qualified Medical Imaging Technicians** equipped with the theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required to perform medical imaging procedures in healthcare settings. In addition to theoretical coursework, students are provided with opportunities for supervised practical training in healthcare institutions, enabling them to enhance their technical expertise, clinical competencies, and professional skills.

Access to Further Studies
The students of Radiology and Medical Imaging program can be transferred to the undergraduate programs of "Nursing Care", and "Nursing and Health Services" via the External Transfer Examination (DGS).
11
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Every student must sign up for the subjects at the beginning of the semester, and attend at least 70 % of the classes and 80 % of the applications to be able to sit for the semester end examination. Students must sit for at least 1 mid-term exam and 1 semester end examination for each subject. The mid-term exam (grades that will be resulted from the following evaluation means of a homework assignment, application exam, laboratory exam, seminar presentation or quiz may well be added to the evaluation of the mid-term grades) contributes 40 % percent and the semester end examination contributes 60 % to the calculation of the success grade. Every examination is evaluated over 100 points. It is compulsory to have at least 50 points from the semester end examination. The pass grade of a subject is at least 50 points, and the success of a class is evaluated via Relative Evaluation System. The students who take the grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC from a subject become successful at the subject. The grades of DC and DD are conditional pass grades. In order to become successful at a subject which a student takes, he or she has to have at least 2.0 general weighted grade average (GANO) when graduating from the school.
