19 Objective of the Course: To describe basic features of power hydraulics and to introduce the applications of hydraulic circuits

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To understand the properties and applications of hydraulic power transmission systems;
2 To understand hydraulic circuit and the properties of the basic elements used in the design of hydraulic circuits (pumps, cylinders, motors and valves, etc.). ;
3 To make inference about the mathematical concepts of the hydraulic system components and circuits related to the flow, speed, efficiency and power concepts ;
4 To calculate the flow, speed, efficiency and power concepts of the hydraulic system components and circuits ;
5 To define characteristics of the basic elements such as pump, motor, cylinder and valve ;
6 To make the design of the hydraulic system;
7 The make the accounts of the hydraulic circuits ;
8 To define elements symbols used in hydraulic systems ;

1 Course objectives and scope of the lesson. Introduction and definitions
2 Basic properties of hydraulic systems. Symbols of elements.
3 Basic formulas and rules used in the design of hydraulic systems
4 Hydraulic pumps. Pump circuits.
5 Design and calculations of pump circuits.
6 Types of accumulator. Applications and formulas of accumulators.
7 Design and calculations of pump circuits with accumulator. Efficiency calculation of pump circuits. Examples about pump circuits.
8 Repeating courses and midterm exam
9 Types of hydraulic valves. Characteristics of various valve types
10 Types of hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic cylinder circuits.
11 Examples about hydraulic cylinder circuits. Hydraulic motors.
12 Hydraulic motors and circuits.
13 Design examples of motor circuits.
14 General review of the subjects. Quiz.
