19 Objective of the Course: To provide technical and practical information about the CNC Machine Tools hardware and software.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Describe the historical development of CNC machine tools.;
2 Describe the application fields of numerically controlled and mechanically controlled machine tools. ;
3 Understand hardware, control mechanisms and feed drives of numerically controlled machine tools.;
4 Describes the part programming logic in conjuction with the cutting tool and workpiece relative movements.;
5 Prepare part programs for CNC turning operations.;
6 Prepare part programs for CNC milling operations.;
7 Interpret the problems encountered in preparation and running of part programs.;
8 Define tool offsets and tool paths using a CAM program.;

9 Cycles, subroutines in turning
10 Part programming in milling
11 Tool compensation, (diameter and tool length compensation)
12 Zero offsetting, Tool path generation using Unigraphics CAM
13 Cycles, subroutines in milling
