19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to give basic information about the ancient history of Greek and Rome. The origins of ancient civilizations, as well as politics, society, religion and architecture will be the main topics.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Be able assess the primary and secondary sources of Roman and Greek History.;
2 Be able to compare different ancient institutions and societies.;
3 Be able to define the geographical boundaries of the ancient Western history.;
4 Be able to define the relationship between the ideals of ancient Roman tradition and the modern Western ethos. ;
5 Comprehend the emergence of Roman civilization and its implications for humanity.;
6 Define the relation of the cultures and beliefs of other ancient Mediterranean societies to those of Rome.;
7 Comprehend a wide variety of materials and approaches related to the Roman and Greek History.;
8 Be able to apply specific skills relevant to the study of the ancient history (languages, paleography and archaeology ).;

5 The kingdom of Macedonia and the Hellenistic Period (330-30 BC)
6 Ancient Greek democracy movements and Greek Poleis
7 Ancient Greek Mythology
8 Etruscan and the Political and Cultural Life in the Roman Royal Period (753-509 BC)
9 Political Developments in the Roman Republican Era and the institutions of the Roman Republic (509-27 BC)
10 Political History of the Roman Principatus Period (27 BC- 284 AD) and reorganization of the Republican Institutions.
11 The Political History of Roman Imperial Period (284-395 AD) and Christianity
