19 Objective of the Course: Because of its multidisciplinary nature handling the pelvis thoroughly and with the help of surgical departments to direct the attention of students to this region under a title to attract any medical student to the clinical anatomy of the pelvis and perineum.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Student will reinforce his / her anatomical knowledge of the pelvis and perineum as well as getting basic medical facts of the region with the help of orthopedic and traumatic surgery, general surgery, urology and obstetrics and gynecology departments and realize the relationship of anatomy and clinics and can decide about his / her future career tendencies more healthily. ;
2 Student will get ready to absorb more detailed knowledge by getting first-hand instructions for the use of the basic science information in clinical practice after establishing the pelvic region anatomy and clinics. ;
3 Student will learn the basic clinical approaches in pelvic region, recognize the structures, the organ systems and will conceive their localizations and functions to acquire the information that can be helpful in evaluation and interpretation of some clinical cases.;
4 Facing the knowledge about human body in the first year facilitates the student for an easy confrontation to his/her future career. ;
5 Student will face the rules and discipline of medicine and will have the first steps and ideas about the ethics of medicine and get used to them.;
22 Course Content:

1 Bony pelvis. Joints and ligaments of pelvis.
2 Muscles of pelvis, pelvic wall and floor. Fascia pelvis.
3 Vessels and nerves of pelvis.
4 Organs of the pelvic cavity: Urinary system structures and male internal genital organs.
5 Female internal genital organs.
6 Rectum, anal canal. Perineum, fascia perinea, urogenital diaphragm.
7 Pelvis from an orthopedic viewpoint.
8 Pelvic traumas.
9 Gynecologic approach to pelvis and perineum.
10 Obstetrics and pelvis, perineum.
11 Clinical urological viewpoint of pelvis.
12 Endoscopic urologic surgery of pelvis.
13 Surgical anatomy of rectum.
14 Surgical anatomy of the anal canal.
