19 Objective of the Course: Teaching the definition of architecture, basic concepts and theories are aimed. And also the development of architecture and structure art will be taught. Changes and developments of the structures from the first human will be explained.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Definition of the architecture, meaning and perception of the principles;
2 To observation to the technical and structural development of the architecture from existence of human;
3 To know the terminology about the architecture ;

Week Theoretical Practical
1 Definition and importance of the architecture, the aim and importance of the course, method, human factor in the structure art, principles off the architecture: Practicability, solidity and beauty. Who is Vitruvius?
2 Chronology, Introduction, Invention of architecture: From the cave to the cities.: Terra Amata ( Nice, France), Neanderthal Culture, The houses of Homo Sapiens.
3 The important centers, which gives us architectural foundlings from the prehistoric time, architecture of Paleolithic period, Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods, important Paleolithic centers in the Anatolia, Karain Cave, Bursa Şahinkaya Cave, guideline for the Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods
4 Neolithic period – 7250-5500 BC, the situation of the Anatolia in the Neolithic period, concept of höyük, house architecture of Çayönü and Çatalhöyük, sanctuary of Göbekli Tepe
5 The architecture of Neolithic settlements which was established around Bursa
6 Architecture of chalcolithic period(5500-3200 BC): Hacılar
7 Midterm Exam + Chalcolithic period, the settlements which were surrounded with the city walls, using the copper (5500-3200 BC): Burdur-Kuruçay Höyük
8 First Bronze Age, Urbanization based on mining (3200-1800 BC): Troia
