19 Objective of the Course: To teach the history of the Balkans at under graduate level. Aims of the course are to know todays Balkan peoples by connecting to the past, to comprehend the source of problems and to be aware of the historical development of the Balkans.

1 To graspthe historical backgroundof people livingin the Balkans.;
2 To understand the status of the Balkans after the ‘Kavimler Göçü’ (Migration of the Tribes).;
3 To learn the adventure of the settlement of Turks in the Balkans during the historical period.;
4 To comprehend the emergence of todays Balkan states.;
5 To have an idea about Turkey's role in Balkan politics.;
6 To grasp view and politics of the Balkan States about Turkey.;
7 To evaluate geo-strategic importance of the Balkans in the past and in the future.;
8 To evaluate geopolitic importance of the Balkans in the past and in the future.;

7 The Greek Uprising and the establishment of the State of Greece

9 Bulgarian Rebellion, Bulgarian Principality and Bulgarian State
10 Establishment of the State of Romania, States of Serbia and Montenegro
