19 Objective of the Course: The main aim of this course is to teach Ottoman economic and social system and the role of the Ottoman state within world economy in nineteenth century.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students will be able to obtain both historical perspective and experience in the application of economic analysis to major issues;
2 Students will be able to write analytical papers on the main topics covered during the course;
3 Students will be able to conduct independent research on Ottoman economic structure;
4 Students will be able to learn how Ottoman Empire reconstruct central bureaucracy;
5 Students will be able to learn the influence of the European capitalism on the Ottoman Empire;
6 Students will be able to understand the social and economic transformations in Ottoman Empire in the nineteenth century;
7 Students will be able to understand the integration process of Ottoman Empire to the world economy;
8 Students will be able to learn the effects of internal and external dynamics in Ottoman Empire;
