19 Objective of the Course: In this course, based on the fact that the problem of poverty is a result of income inequalities, the problems caused by poverty and solutions of these problems is to be dealt with in detail.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Learns the different definitions of income distribution and poverty and also to be able to understand the issues related to identification of these headlines.;
2 To be able to understand the problems of measurement and the measurement of income distribution and poverty.;
3 To be able to perceives that the poverty is a result of income inequalities.;
4 To be able to learn that income inequalities and poverty problems are nested with other issues.;
5 To be able to understand the development of poverty and income inequality in Turkey. ;
6 To be able to understand current state of poverty and income inequalities in Turkey and also integrate it with other problems.;
7 To be able to know the methods used in the fight against the poverty.;
8 To be able to evaluate the measures taken to reduce poverty and income inequality in Turkey. ;

2 Measurement of income distribution and poverty, estimate the poverty line, problems of measurement.
3 Poverty as a result of income distribution.
4 Income distribution and poverty in the world.
5 Poverty and health: Hunger and malnutrition.
6 Poverty and health: Mother and child health, maternal mortality and infant mortality.
7 Poverty and education: access barriers to education.
8 Poverty and education: sexual discrimination.
9 Poverty and housing: Housing problems of poor, slum areas.
10 Poverty and housing: Homelessness and street boys.
11 Income distribution and poverty in Turkey: Perception of poverty and poverty over time.
12 Income distribution and poverty today in Turkey.
13 Decreasing income inequalities and eradicate poverty.
