Objective of the Course:
The aim of the course to look at the critical role of international social policy and revisit social policy in Turkey which is necessary to emphasize local relevance and global interdependence.

Learning Outcomes:
1
To be able to question and analyze the need to redefine social policy in the international context. ;
2
To be able to learn the internal and external factors that directs and structures the international social policies and reveal the need of international organizations as regulatory actors. ;
3
To be able tolearn the importance of international institutions such as international labor organization and European Union which have determinative impact on the process of policy making. ;
4
To be able to begin to examine the political, sociological and human rights perspectives in framing social policies for the well-being of all citizens, particularly the marginalized sections of society through the course. ;
5
To be able to have a perspective on how gender discrimination, class and ethnicity and human barriers can be reduced through social policy. ;
6
To be able to apply theories and methods of social policy in exploring specific social policy fields such as health, migration, pensions, education, social care, poverty and social exclusion, urban development, and family policy.;

To be able to learn the norms and principles that direct the social policies of International Labor Organization, European Council and European Union.;

To be able to develop an intellectual thought about the social world as a whole. ;
