21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Definition of project concepts, characteristics and types of agricultural projects;
2 Decide on selection of relevant project subjects, place and size of project;
3 Compare various agricultural projects and select the most suitable one;
4 Relate agricultural projects with the development plans;
5 Be able to prepare and evaluate agricultural projects;
6 Calculate the evaluation criteria of agricultural projects;
7 Solving of problems by economic systems ;
8 Choosing between alternative financial sources ;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Introduction of the course, scope and rurals
2 Investment and Project Concepts, Project Types, Agricultural Projects
3 Market analysis, competition analysis, demand forecasting methods
4 Determination of Project / Scale the size (capacity), the factors that influence the choice of capacity, capacity types, break-even point analysis
5 Determination of the technical aspects of the project (technology selection, properties)
6 Objective and subjective methods used in the selection of location place, factors affecting the location place
7 Sources of funding that can be used in projects, financing plan, cost of capital, time value of money, selection of discount rate
8 Income and expenses of projects, cash flow analysis, calculation of firm capital requirement
9 Assessment of financial aspects of projects, (net present value, cost-benefit ratio, internal rate of return, dynamic payback period, profitability ratio), the discussion on sample projects
10 Economic evaluation of projects (employment, added value, the exchange contribution), the discussion on sample projects
11 Project evaluation techniques under conditions of risk and uncertainty, the discussion on sample projects
12 Pert and Gantt techniques, actions planning in project
13 Presentation and evaluation of students' projects
14 Presentation and evaluation of students' projects
