19 Objective of the Course: The meaning and qualities of politics, the concepts of state and sovereignty, the legitimacy foundations of political power, political power and stratification, elites, political parties and pressure groups are to define, analyze and evaluate.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To gain the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge learned in the courses in public institutions and enterprises suitable for the student's program.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to have knowledge about political power, the characteristics of power, its limits and the foundations of legitimacy.;
2 To be able to comprehend the new researches on modern political science and contemporary political ideologies.;
3 To explain totalitarian, theocratic and authoritarian systems and their current applications in the world.;
4 To be able to analyze public opinion, political participation, voter behavior and political orientations.;
5 To have knowledge about the parties, political culture, party types and functions in Turkish political life.;
6 To gain awareness about the concepts of multi-party political life, pluralist democracy and national will as the basic achievements of the democratic state.;
7 To be able to comprehend political rights, effectiveness of local governments, civil society, political participation, legitimate power perception and democratic initiative.;
8 To understand and explain the relations between the political power, opposition parties, pressure and interest groups, bureaucrats and NGOs;;
