19 Objective of the Course: Introducing of Latin grammar
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development This course teaches the basic rules of Latin, which is the source language of Christianity studies, to graduates who will study in the field of History of Religions.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To learn basic Latin Grammer;;
2 To be able to separate the inflections of the verb, noun and adjective in Latin;;
3 To be able to recognize the most used words in Latin;;
4 To be able to translate from Latin to Turkish, Turkish to Latin;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 The First Declination, The Third Conjugation of Active Praesens, possessive constructions, verbs of negation, verb of metuo.
2 The Second Declination, The Third Conjugations of Active Imperfectum, verb of esse, numerical adjectives.
3 Noun of Deus, personal pronouns, The Third Conjugation of Active Futur, conditional clauses
4 Declination after three genders, verb of esse (indicative praesens, imperfectum, futur)
5 Rules of nomen’s declinations, interrogative pronoun
6 The Second Declination: nouns and adjectives on -er
7 Midterm Exam+ Verb of esse (indicative perfect, pluquamperfect, exact futur), Multis logis, declination of quod, using compound verbs.
8 Demonstrative pronouns (is, ea, id), verb of basic stems (stem of perfect), declination of postquam, ablativus temporale, using reflexive pronouns
9 The Fourth Declination, feminine nouns on -us
10 The Third Conjugation (praesens subjunctiv) subordinate clauses, final clauses
11 The Third Conjugation (perfect subjunctiv), using rules of cum narrativus, cum causale, irreal conditional clauses.
12 The Fifth Declination, verb of esse in subjunctiv, double dativ, amici est
13 Perfect passiv participle, using as adjective of perfect passive participle
14 The Third Declination: declination of themes ending in consonants, using ablativus limitationis and participle
