19 Objective of the Course: Students, oncology nursing with the basic concepts, oncological diseases, diagnosis, treatment and care to teach and patient individual's functional capacity and quality of life for the improvement initiatives required to implement the theoretical knowledge and skills to give.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It supports increasing the quality of care to be given to patients with oncological diseases in professional life.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To define the basic concepts related to oncology nursing ;
2 Knowing the basic concepts related to cancer;
3 Knowing the cancer diagnosis and treatment ;
4 In earlier courses to integrate the knowledge gained in this course;
5 Planning, implementation and evaluation for nursing interventions to the specific type of cancer ;
6 Having knowledge about palliative care applied in cancer patients ;
7 Experienced by cancer patients and their families to know the psycho-social problemsg;
8 Having knowledge about the ethical problems and solutions encountered in cancer patients;
9 Knowing the law, legislation and regulations on oncology nursing;
22 Course Content:

1 In the world and in our country Oncology Nursing National and International Association of Oncology Nursing
2 Biology of Cancer, the cancer classification and staging
3 Cancer risk factors, cancer prevention, early detection and diagnostic methods
4 Cancer treatment methods I (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery)
5 Cancer treatments II (biological therapies, bone marrow transplantation, stem cell transplantation, new treatment methods)
6 Complementary and alternative therapies used in the treatment of cancer patients
7 The most common type of cancers I (breast cancer, lung cancer, larynx cancer, thyroid cancer)
8 The most common types of cancer II (Colorectal cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer)
9 Most common cancer types II (prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, skin cancer)
10 Symptom management in cancer patients
11 Nutrition in cancer patients
12 Psychosocial problems experienced by cancer patients and family (depression, quality of life, burden of caregivers, etc.).
13 Palliative care in cancer patients
14 The legal and ethical problems in cancer patient care
