19	Objective of the Course:	To teach students peri-operative care of the patient , guide them to develop the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practice, and to convey evidence-based practices in surgical nursing.
20	Contribution of the Course to Professional Development	This course guides students in providing quality nursing care to surgical patients accoridng to evidence-based practices in their professional lives.

Learning Outcomes:

1	Knows basic principles of surgery;
2	Being able to care for patient in pre-operative period;
3	Being able to care for patients during intraoperative period.;
4	Being able to care for patient in postoperative period.;
5	Knows nursing care of spesific surgical procedures done on body systems;

Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Used in the Course	The theoretical part of the course is evaluated with measures the theoretical knowledge and analyzing skills using midterm and the final exam. The evaluation of the performance of the clinical practice is evaluated by reflecting the students' targeted knowledge and skills to clinical practice (Case studies, Developin nursing care plans, patient centered care, clinical nursing skills etc.).
