19 Objective of the Course: To improve students’ love and understanding of mother tongue who are studying in various departments in accordance with the constantly progressing conditions of the age; to emphasize the connection between language and thought; to enlighten individuals who are scientifically productive, creative, able to use their mother tongue accurately and equipped with contemporary knowledge, in language and literature history.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Developing language understanding by pointing out the language culture-society connection and using the Turkish versions of the professional and scientific field terms.

1 Using Turkish accurately and well.;
2 Developing language understanding by pointing out the language culture-society connection;
3 Exampling the current place and condition of the Turkish language among world languages and spread areas.;
4 Application of the features, functions and rules of the Turkish Language with examples.;
5 Using the Turkish versions of the professional and scientific field terms. ;
6 Analyzing the Turkish Language;
7 Scientific contribution to the Turkish Language and Literature.;
8 Comparison of the past and the present of the Turkish Language.;

5 Language-culture relation
6 World languages and the place of Turkish among them.
7 Historic phases of the Turkish Language
8 What is grammar? Subjects and chapters of grammar.
9 Classification of sounds in Turkish, sound features of Turkish
10 Sound actions, syllable structures and intonation in Turkish
11 Inflectional and derivational suffixes in Turkish
12 Parts of speech (nouns, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns)
13 Parts of speech (verbs, conjunctions, prepositions, exclamations)
