19 Objective of the Course: The main purpose of this course is to teach the students basic Ottoman Turkish that required for the advanced sociological l studies in the future
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To have knowledge of sociological and human activities in Ottoman society, as well as to study Ottoman society.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To comprehend the importance of the Ottoman Turkish;
2 To grasp the importance of the historical documents;
3 To be able to understand the terms and phrases used in historical documents;
4 To Improve the knowledge of Ottoman Turkish, which is necessary for the studies of Ottoman History;
5 To know historical sources;
6 To gain the knowledge of the numbers and figures used in Ottoman documents;
7 To comprehend the method of use of the dictionaries being reference works;
8 To be able to read documents in Ottoman Turkish Language;

2 Vowel points, grammatical features of the letters, reading of the letters
3 The syntax of the Tukish vowels, fetures of the consonants. Reading Text: Turkish "İstiklal Marşı/National Anthern"
4 The syntax of the Turkish pronouns, writing of suffixes of the letters. Reading Text: "Lisan"
5 The Syntax of the Arabic and Persian vowels. Reading Text: "Peri Kızı ile Çoban Hikayesi"
6 Case endings. Reading text: "Kuruk Acısı"
7 Suffixes of possession. Reading Text: Havuçlu Pilav Meselesi”
