Objective of the Course:
To enable students to comprehend the multi-scalar (body, local, micro regional, national, macro regional and global) relations between ecological crisis and different dimensions of the social structure (economic, political, social and cultural).

To be able to identify the economic, political, and socio-cultural factors behind ecological degradation. ;

To be able to compare between apolitical and political approaches in the field of ecology and identify their differences.;

To learn about the different meanings attached to the concepts of nature and environment. ;

To learn about the changing relation between humans and nature throughout history.;

To learn and compare between different approaches to nature- society relations and the mitigation of environmental risks in economic thought. ;
