19 Objective of the Course: Providing the student with knowledge about local governments, democracy theory and local democracy, gaining a perspective on the relationship between local governments, democracy and politics.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students learn about the concept of local democracy and local democratic practices in Turkey.

1 To gain knowledge of the theory of democracy.;
2 To gain knowledge of local administration systems and traditions.;
3 To understand the relationship between local democracy, governance and autonomy.;
4 To gain knowledge of approaches to local politics.;
5 To get the opportunity to analyze the relationship between local governments, information and communication technologies and social media.;
6 To gain the opportunity to examine local democracy practices.;
7 To gain knowledge of the central government-local government relations in Turkey.;
