19 Objective of the Course: To learn about the methods used for diagnosis in microbiology and their areas of use and to make an application accordingly.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students will gain the knowledge and skills to be able to work or research in microbiology laboratory.

1 To learn the organization of the clinical microbiology laboratory;
2 To learn the acceptance / rejection criteria of specimens used in microbiological diagnosis;
3 To know the methods used for diagnosis in microbiology;
4 To be able to choose and apply the appropriate diagnostic method for microbiological diagnosis;
5 To compare microbiological diagnostic methods;

1 Main equipments used in microbiology laboratory and their features Introducing glass materials, devices and equipment used in the microbiology laboratory
2 Working order of the microbiology laboratory On-site examination of microbiology laboratories (Bacteriology, Serology, ELISA, PCR, Mycology, Tuberculosis, Parasitology)
3 Direct Diagnosis in Microbiology - Microscopic Diagnosis; Light Microscopy Bacteriology: Evaluating directly stained preparations
4 Direct Diagnosis in Microbiology - Culture media used for identification of microorganisms - properties and intended use Bacteriology: Introducing the media, inoculating techniques, evaluating the cultivated media
5 Direct Diagnosis in Microbiology - Culture Mycology: Microscopy, macroscopy, germ tube
6 Direct Diagnosis in Microbiology - Hybridization Parasitology: Microscopy, macroscopy, MEZN and Trichrome staining method
