19 Objective of the Course: To become students qualified theoretically about endocrine system diseases of horses. To diagnose this diseases with the evaluating of laboratory parameters, make the differential diagnosis and to learn the treatment methods. To provide knowledge about preventive medicine
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students can diagnose and treath endocrine diseases of horses.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The student learns specific diseases of this system of equine;
2 The student learns specific diseases of this system of horses in our country;
3 The student learns to determine differential diagnosis with clinical and laboratory findings of the diseases of horses ;
4 The student learns to determine current therapies of the diseases in order to consider financial conditions ;
5 The student learns to determine prophylactic methods for preventing from diseases;

1 Diseases associated with calcium disorders
2 Endocrine causes of hypocalcemia and treatment in horses
3 Equine Cushings disease
4 Diagnostic tests for Cushings disease
5 Thyroid disfunction and extrathyroid factors that affect thyroid function and testing
6 Direct and indirect diagnostic tests for thyroidal diseases
7 Hypothyroidism in adult horses, treatment of hypothyroidism and thyroid tumors
8 The adrenal glands; Adrenal insufficiency, hyperadrenocorticism
9 Endocrine Pankreas; diabetes mellitus, hyperinsulinemia and hypoinsulinemia in horses
10 Thyroid function and molecular actions of thyroid hormones
11 Primary, secondary, renal and nutritional hyperparathyroidism
12 Diseases associated with hypocalcemia in horses
13 Metabolism, transport and regulation of vitamin D
14 Magnesium disorders; physiologic role of magnesium, hormonal regulation of magnesium, hypomagnesemia and hypermagnesemia
