19 Objective of the Course: The objective of the course is to gain the knowledge and ability to analyze quantitative data using qualitative analysis software such as NVivo and MaxQda in religious studies.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Providing the graduates with the knowledge and skills to make qualitative analysis in possible fields of study such as teaching, religious service, and academia.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 At the completion of this course students will be able to: describe the general characteristics of qualitative analysis software used in religious studies.;
2 prepare qualitative data for analysis;
3 define the general features of MaxQda, the qualitative analysis softwares;
4 create a new project file with MaxQda;
5 transfer written, visual and audio data to MaxQda;
6 code and create themes using MaxQda;
7 create demographic data in MaxQda;
8 perform qualitative analysis of videos with NVivo and MaxQda;
9 analyze qualitative data with MaxQda;
10 list what kind of information the research report will cover based on qualitative data.;

1 Introduction to qualitative research in Religious Studies
2 General characteristics of qualitative analysis softwares used in religious studies
3 Characteristics of qualitative data and preparation of analysis
4 Maxqda as a qualitative analysis software and general features. Installing the software and creating a new project
5 Importing of written, audiovisual data to Maxqda
6 Key Concepts in Maxqda: Explore the sample project
7 Coding and making nodes in Maxqda
8 Working with demographic data using Maxqda
9 Qualitative analysis of videos with Maxqda
10 Using visual tools and creating concept maps
11 Comparing cases and groups
12 Quantitative analysis of data with MaxQda
