19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to introduce the student to societies and their cultures, concentrating on ancient civilizations, from the beginnings to the 13th Century. Social, economical, political, and religious institutions will be examined within an historic context
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students learn about ancient civilizations until the 13th century.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 He/She is able to evaluate the reasons for cultural differences amongst societies. ;
2 He/She is able to compare societies possessing different historical backgrounds in terms of cultural diversities. ;
3 He/She is able to apprehend politic, economic and social processes which influence in consisting of cultures and civilizations along history. ;
4 He/She is able to express similarities of cultures accepted as member of the same civilization. ;
5 Be able to find, organize and assess the primary and secondary sources of the History of the Civilizations. ;
6 Define the origins of the modern Western Civilizations. ;
7 To understand the contributions of Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations to world civilization ;
8 Be able to examine the historical events in an objective point of view. ;
