19 Objective of the Course: Production that started in the Archaic Period in Anatolia, where we see the earliest examples of the tradition of sarcophagus production in the Ancient Period, was represented in the Classical and Hellenistic Periods, and in the Roman Period, especially under the leadership of the Dokimeion studio there was an increase. Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to learn the examples of sarcophagi, which are of great importance for Anatolian Art, from the Archaic Period to the end of the Roman Period.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The student have knowledge about the sarcophagus samples from the Archaic Period to the end of the Roman Period and the local sarcophagus workshops in Anatolia.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have information about the early examples of Sarcophagus Art.;
2 To be able to distinguish Dokimeion workshop samples;
3 To have information about local sarcophagus workshops in Anatolia;
4 Learning the important types of sarcophagi seen in Anatolia;
5 To be able to distinguish the local characteristics of the sarcophagi produced in Anatolia from the Roman and Athens;

3 Important sarcophagus workshops in the Roman Period: Rome and Athens
4 Anatolia's most important sarcophagus production workshop: Dokimeion
5 Dokimeion production sarcophagi with garland
6 Dokimeion production column sarcophagi
7 Dokimeion production column sarcophagi
