19 Objective of the Course: To try to understand the position and importance of women in Ottoman society in the classical period
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Understanding the place of women in society in the Ottoman Classical period helps the student to gain a wider perspective in the field of women and family studies
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 The ability to understand the place of women in the Ottoman social structure;
2 The ability to evaluate the Ottoman society in terms of gender;
3 The ability to comprehend the place of women in the Ottoman family;
4 The ability to assess the place of women in the Ottoman economic life;
5 The ability to understand the place of women in the Ottoman Public life;
6 The ability to assess the place of women in the Ottoman art community;
7 The ability the evaluate the perception of women to the western travelers;
8 The ability to understand the function of women in waqfs in the Ottoman classical period;
9 The ability to evaluate the attitude of women to divorce in the Ottoman society;

11 Women in various statuses: being a slave/cariye or freed slave
