19 Objective of the Course: To understand the map production process.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development It provides to understand the logic of the entire map production process.

1 To be able to comprehend the definition and importance of cartography;
2 To have knowledge about the types of cartography;
3 To have knowledge about topographic maps;
4 Understanding the Shape and Size of the Earth;
5 To have knowledge about scale, map types, function, features, elements;
6 Learning Geographical Coordinates, Plane Coordinate Systems;
7 Learning Map Projections and classification;
8 Understanding Gauss-Kruger and UTM projections;
9 Understanding orthodrome, loxodrome curves;

2 General cartography, mathematical cartography, thematic cartography
3 Topographic maps, elevations on maps, contour lines
4 Form and Size of the Earth
5 Scale, map types, function, properties, elements
6 Geographical Coordinates, Plane Coordinate Systems
7 Map Projections
8 Repeating courses and midterm exam
9 Distortion in map projections
10 Projection Surfaces and Locations
11 Classification of Projection Methods
12 Classification of Projection Methods
13 Gauss-Kruger and UTM Projections
14 Special curves on the sphere, orthodrome, loxodrome.

Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Used in the Course In order to decide on the success in this course, 1 midterm exam with 40 impact rate and 1 final exam with 60 impact rate are made. Within the scope of this course, a relative evaluation system that enables the conversion of the students' raw achievement scores into letter grades is applied.
