19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this subject is to examine the legal institutions and their developments in different Turkish states in history. Also it is vital to reveal the effects of them under different circumstances.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Understanding of the law systems of ancient Turkish states and their positive or negative aspects are our basic aim. On the other hand it is very important to connect them with our current law system.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To have information about different terms of Turkish history;
2 To examine different kinds of law institutions in Turkish history;
3 To see the relationship between different Turkish states in the past and our recent law system;

1) The resources of Ancient Middle Asian Turkish Law
2) The law systems of Huns and Kokturks
3) Kutadgu bilig and the law system of Uighur State
4) The religions which Turks accepted before Islam
5) The resources of Islamıc law
6) Islamic schools
7) Caliphate, being a caliph and his main duties
8) Taxes in Islamic law
9) Islamic penalty law
10) Islamic personality law and slavery
11) Islamic marriage law
12) The ways of ending of marriage in Islamic law
13) Paternity, guardianship and adopting a child ın Islamic Law
14) Islamic heritage law and the general knowledge about heirs
15) Practices on Islamic heritage law
16) The institution of Vakıf in Islamic law
17) Islamic obligation law - Islamic possession law
18) The state organization of Abbasids
19) The state organization of Great Selchuks
20) The state organization of Anatolian Selchuks and the term of Beylics
21) The elements which constitute the Ottoman state
22) The Sultan, the Grand Vizier, Şeyhülislam, Kazasker
23) Defterdar, the military organization, Captain Pasha, Governer
24) Working of the central organization in Ottoman State and Divans

Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Used in the Course The main measurement and evaluation techniques of the course are mid term and final exams. On the other hand the participation of students during the lessons and the homeworks are the secondary techniques for the course.
Information As the mid term and final exams are the main measurement and evaluation techniques for understanding the lessons, participation of students during the coursa and the homeworks have also a significant role in understanding, evaluating and enhancing the subjects.
