19 Objective of the Course: Teaching the characteristics of prehistoric cultures, the products produced by civilizations in historical periods, and scientific and technological innovations.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Gains knowledge about problems related to human history, culture and civilization. Have knowledge about the place and importance of the History of Ancient Civilizations in world history. Ancient History has information about historical events that can be evaluated in their entirety and the effects of these events.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Ability to understand the ways in which historical knowledge is formed;
2 To be able to understand the characteristics of civilization and the elements that make up civilization;
3 To understand general information about Central Asian, Chinese, Indian and Iranian Civilizations;
4 Understanding the importance of Sumerian civilization;
5 To have general knowledge about the Egyptian Civilization and to understand the importance of scientific developments.;
6 To have general information about the civilizations of Syria and Palestine regions.;
7 Understanding the importance of Anatolian Civilizations;
8 Understanding the Hittites and the development of valuable civilizations;
9 To have knowledge about the birth and development of Greek Civilization;
10 Understanding the importance of Roman Civilization;

1 Main sources about ancient times. Definition of historical science, Sciences Assisting History. General Characteristics of the Ancient Period. Concept of Age in History.
2 Asian cultures and civilizations; Characteristics of Chinese, Indian, Central Asian and Iranian cultures and civilizations
3 Ancient Mesopotamian Civilization. Political history of Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians.
4 Political history of Assyrians, Hurrians, Amurrus. Mesopotamian Civilizations; Economy and art.
5 Mesopotamian Civilizations; Religion and belief, Law, architecture and science.
6 Ancient Egyptian History and Civilization; Political history, culture and political structure.
7 Ancient Egyptian Civilization; Religion and belief, mummy making, architectural works, science.
8 Filistin Uygarlığı; Kenanlar, Fenikeliler, Filistler ve İbraniler.
9 Hittite Political and Cultural Data from Prehistoric Periods of Anatolia. The establishment-growth-collapse process of the state. What they brought to Anatolia.
10 Late Hittite City States and Urartian Civilization.
11 Phrygians, Lydians, Ionians. Political and Cultural History
12 Ancient Aegean Basin, Geopolitical Situation - Cretan Civilization.
13 Ancient Greek Civilization. Achaeans-Dorians-Aegean Migrations. Greek Civilization and Its Effects on the Later Period.
14 Foundation-Development of Rome. The period before the official acceptance of Christianity.
