19 Objective of the Course: The aim of the course is to train the students and improve research skills in the subjects of yarn dyeing and drying machines, yarn dyeing processes of the common textile fibres.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The information on yarn dyeing machines and processes given in the course provides the student with an important infrastructure to carry out process / product development and R&D projects.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Being able to understand the importance of the yarn preparatory processes for yarn dyeing. ;
2 Being able to distinguish the differences between fabric and yarn dyeing technologies.;
3 Being able to decide suitable dyeing method depending on the yarn type and quality.;
4 Being able to design yarn (package) dyeing program.;
5 Being able to research in the field of yarn dyeing technology along with observe and present of technological developments.;

1 Introduction: Place and importance of the yarn dyeing in the textile industry.
2 Package dyeing machinery and technology-1
3 Package dyeing machinery and technology-2
4 Some technical concepts in package dyeing.
5 Preparation processes of the yarns for package dyeing.
6 Hank and beam dyeing machines and technologies.
7 Indigo and fancy yarn dyeing technologies.
8 Yarn drying methods and machines.
9 Yarn dyeing applications for common textile fibres-1 (cellulosic, polyester, polyamide, acrylic).
10 Yarn dyeing applications for common textile fibres-2 (cellulosic, polyester, polyamide, acrylic). Mid-term exam.
11 Examination of selected yarn dyeing programs.
12 Common faults in yarn dyeing.
13 Industrial visit.
14 Recent advancements in yarn dyeing technology and homework presentations.
