19 Objective of the Course: Examine the some important plant ve storage pests and, plant diseases
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Students will learn about some important plant diseases, plant pests and weeds and learn effective control methods against them.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Knows the parts of phytopathology;
2 Recognizes the microorganism, parasitic-weeds and, abiotic disease factors;
3 Knows the symptoms of diseases;
4 Recognizes the important plant diseases, and knows them to struggle.;
5 Knows the morphology, anatomy and reproduction of insects;
6 Recognizes the important plant pests, and knows them to struggle.;
7 Teach the pest of storage;
8 Understands the struggle for empty and full storage to pests.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 History of phytopathology, economic importance of plant diseases Examine the various visual materials on the subject
2 Host plant - pathogen interactions, symptoms occurring in the diseased plant Evaluation the various visual materials relevant to the subject
3 Abiotic and biotic disease factors (viruses, bacteria) Pictures of virus and bacteria and, symptoms were brought on plants
4 Fungi, parasitic flowering plants and weeds Pictures of fungi and parasitic flowering plants and weeds and, symptoms were brought on plants
5 Epidemiology, cultural measures with respect to hygiene and therapy Application pictures of pesticides
6 Breeding of resistant varieties, biological struggle, physical struggle, chemical struggle, and quarantine measures Fungicide application with pulverizator
7 Damping-off diseases, wheat bunt, smut and rust diseases, description, biology and the struggle Application of seed treatments
8 Repetition of the course and midterm exam Pictures of diseases studied theoretically
9 Description, biology and struggle of Cercospora leaf spot disease of sugar beet, sunflower downy mildew, potato downy mildew, tobacco downy mildew diseases Dried insect samples and pictures belonging to various order
