19 Objective of the Course: Teaching theater type and its relationship with literature and transition from traditional Turkish theater to theater in western sense
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Seeing the development of Turkish theater through different examples

1 Able to learn the birth of theater and historical development of theater;
2 Able to understand Turkish theater from Reforms(Tanzimat) period to present ;
3 Able to distinguish authors of Turkish theather;

5 Able to comment theater works;

Week Theoretical Practical
1 Emergence and development of theater.
2 Samples of Western theater.
3 Theater activities in period of the Reforms(Tanzimat) and the Serveti Fünûn.
4 Theater activities after the II. Constitutional(Meşrutiyet)
5 The Miser and the Tartuffe plays of Moliere
6 Two theater products of Şinasi and Namık Kemal
