19 Objective of the Course: To give students the basic knowledge on the frequently encountered legal issues and to maket hem comprehend the Turkish legal system, to ensure that students can explain main concepts in law, identify essential judiciary institutions and realize the importance of this course as a basis for other courses on law.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The student will have information about the basic concepts of law and gains a legal perspective.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To develop a perspective towards the importance of law and to gain a foundational knowledge on law. ;
2 To be able to more easily comprehend the content of the subsequent courses on law. To be able to more easily comprehend the content of the subsequent courses on law. ;
3 To gain a basic level of knowledge on law. ;
4 To have a consciousness regarding the rights and responsibilities of citizens. ;
5 To compensate the lack of law courses in the Faculties of Economic and Administrative Sciences as much as possible. ;
6 As a citizen to be able to interpret the rules of law at an average level. ;
7 To learn about the sources of law, different branches of law and their contents. ;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 Rules of social order and the need for law, different meanings and functions of law, legal sanctions.
2 The sources of law and the implementation of rules of law in terms of content, period and place.
3 The implementation of rules of law in terms of content (the interpretation of legal rules), filling gaps in the judiciary process and jurisprudence.
4 The concept of “right” and different types of rights; the attainment, the usage and the loss of rights.
5 “Positive intent” in the attainment of rights and “honesty principles” in their usage.
6 Places of judiciary in terms of the trial process, organization and duties and authorities.
7 Lawsuit types in law, methods and techniques of evidence in law, different branches of law.
8 Branches of public and private law and examples of lawsuits related with both public and private law.
9 Legal phenomenon, the concepts of operation and act and their different dimensions, the concept of responsibility in law
10 The form and the features of Turkish State
11 Person and personality in law, kinship and name and surname
12 The concepts of property and legacy in law
13 The concept of debt in law
14 The concept of debt in law, arbitration and domicile
