19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to provide students with a clear understanding and an accessible introduction to the political creeds and doctrines that have dominated and shaped world politics over the last 200 years. Through an international perspective and ranging from traditional 19th century ideologies like liberalism, conservatism, and socialism to more contemporary ones like feminism, ecologism and political Islam, the aim is to offer a clear exposition of both historical development of each ideology and the impact each has had on contemporary political movements, parties and governments.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development The nature of the nexus of legal systems and political systems, as well as current political theory, will be understandable by this course.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students will be able to conceptualize ideas about major political figures and philosophers. ;
2 they will be able to distinguish between major political movements.;
3 they will learn the distinctive ideas and values of ideologies on important political themes.;
4 they will also realize the competing, conflicting traditions that each ideology have generated. ;
