19 | Objective of the Course: | The aim of this course is to provide students with a clear understanding and an accessible introduction to the political creeds and doctrines that have dominated and shaped world politics over the last 200 years. Through an international perspective and ranging from traditional 19th century ideologies like liberalism, conservatism, and socialism to more contemporary ones like feminism, ecologism and political Islam, the aim is to offer a clear exposition of both historical development of each ideology and the impact each has had on contemporary political movements, parties and governments. |
