Objective of the Course:
Psychological counseling course aims to identify the problems of the client, to guide her/him, to provide the client with the ability to solve her/him problems on her/him own, and to contribute to the treatment of the client's problems by using effective consultant capacities.

Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
Students learn about the principles and techniques of psychological counseling. They make emotional, cognitive and behavioral interventions to individuals who will receive psychological counseling.

Learning Outcomes:

Students understand the importance of psychological counseling.;

Students learn the relationship between the counseling process and other areas.;

Students gain the necessary experience to be an effective counselor.;

Students follow the steps of the psychological counseling process step- wise;

Students successfully apply counselor traits such as empathy, transparency, and communication skills.;

Students learn to give consistent, open, unconditional respect, supportive responses as a counselor.;

Students perform a pre-interview with the client, get a autobiography and define the client's problem.;

Students learn to make emotional interventions. Apply the empty chair technique successfully.;

Students perform cognitive restructuring as a type of intervention.;
