19	Objective of the Course:	To educate health professionals will be able to evaluate patients with life threatening conditions; who will be able to perform nursing care with systematically and holistic approach in ICU
20	Contribution of the Course to Professional Development

Learning Outcomes:

1	Knows basic and general principles and equipment of intensive care.;
2	Knows intensive care nurse duties, roles and responsibilities.;
3	Knows basic life support applications.;
4	Knows and is aware of the complications that will arise from long term bed rest in ICU.;
5	Knows the coma and mental status evaluation and applies optimum therapeutic procedures to an unconscious patient.;
6	Knows to follow up a patient in shock in ICU.;
7	Knows to follow up a patient with acute respiratory distress syndrome and applies nursing care to a patient with mechanical ventilation.;
8	Knows to evaluate a patient with cardiac problems and follow up patient under cardiac monitorization and applies nursing care. ;
9	Knows to follow up patients with renal failure, treatment and applies nursing care.;
10	Knows to follow up patients with multiple trauma and applies nursing care.;

5	Nursing care of patients with cardiovasculer problems in ICU
6	Nursing care of patients with renal problems in ICU
7	Nursing care of patients with gastrointestinal/endocrin problems in ICU.
8	Nursing care of patients with neurologic problems in ICU.
9	The concept of Clinical Nutrition in ICU
10	Nursing care of patients with multiple trauma
11	Multiple organ dysfunction syndrome
12	Infection control in ICU
13	Prophylaxis, analgesia and sedation practice in ICU
14	Patient rights and ethical decisions in ICU
