19 Objective of the Course: The aim of this course is to obtain information to students about the European Union's enlargement policy; the importance of the Eastern Enlargement for the European Union; The European Union's relations with the Balkan countries; new members and neighbours of the European Union; the problem of Turkeys membership to the European Union; Deepening, integration and enlargement goals of the European Union; the potential advantages and disadvantages of Eastern Enlargement of the European Union

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to analyze comparatively the phases of enlargement of the European Union;
2 To be able to explain the importance of security for the European Union's enlargement policy;
3 To be able to understand the importance of Germany for the European Union's Eastern enlargement ;
4 To be able to participate in discussions about the borders of Europe ;
5 To be able to explain adjustment problems of new members of the European Union;
6 To be able to participate in discussions about the European Union's enlargement policy and Turkey's membership ;
7 To be able to predict about the possible enlargements of the European Union;
8 To be able to analyze the importance of the flexible structure of the European Union;
