19 Objective of the Course: In this course, political structure and diplomatic relations of Ottoman Empire will be explained as continuation of acquired basic Diplomatic History I-II courses and will be purposed to construct formations and substructures properly to international relations students to contribute other lessons taken from IR. Toward this purpose, primarily founding, rising, stagnation ve declining era of Ottoman Empire is explained then causes, progress and conclusions of these eras are analysed. After explaining these basic knowledges, political structure of Ottoman Empire and transformed processes of Ottoman Empire’s diplomatic relations are explicated and in this context, impacts on foundation of Turkish Republic and diplomatic heritages traced back to Ottoman Empire are analysed comparatively.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to use basic concepts related to Ottoman Diplomatic History appropriately;
2 To be able to construct formations and substructures which students will take other IR courses during undergraduate education to contribute properly;
3 To be able to explicate political structure of Ottoman Empire and transformed processes of Ottoman Empire’s diplomatic relations comparatively and in this context, to be able to determine impacts of Ottoman Empire’s political structure and diplomatic relations on foundation of Turkish Republic and heritages traced back to Ottoman Empire.;
4 To be able to determine historical aspects of current international issues via reading sources in Turkish and Foreign literature;
