19 Objective of the Course: The aim of the course is to understand the constant principles, concepts and institutions, and to analyze the origins and chronological evolution of Turkish foreign policy through the initial 25-30 years.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to identify the fundamental concepts and principles of Turkish foreign policy;
2 To be able to demonstrate knowledge on chronological evolution of Turkish foreign policy ;
3 To be able to attain a level of analysis to make periodic comparisons within the history and structure of Turkish foreign;
4 To be able to articulate the arguments for any debate on contemporary Turkish foreign policy;
5 To be able to interpret Turkish foreign policy both at regional and international level;

5 Mudanya Cease Fire and Lozan Treaty and Principles
6 Musul issue and relations with Britain (1923-1939)
7 Hatay issue and relations with France (1923-1939) (Midterm)
8 1923-1939 period: Turkish-Greek relations
9 1923-1939 period: Relations with USSR
10 1923-1939 period: Relations with revisionist countries (Germany and Italy)
11 Turkey’s accession to League of Nations and Saadabad Pact
12 Montrö Straits Agreement
13 Turkish foreign policy before World War II
14 Basic principles, goals, strategies and tactics of Turkish foreign policy during World War II
